Hello everyone, it’s Suemoto, the PR representative here. I recently made my blog debut, and I’m fully embracing the burnout syndrome now.🤭

As I am an athelete, so someone from athletic community, one must always keep their spirit burning. I apologize! I bet some of you are wondering, ‘What sport was I involved in?’ 😉

I’ve been engaged in the less-popular sport of ‘Rifle Shooting’ in Japan! I’ll share more details gradually, so stay tuned for my posts!!

Now, our focus (Yushi Goto) is a promising young employee who joined the company in 2022, and I’ve had the chance to hear his experiences over the past year.

I was enrolled in the Information Media Engineering Department of the International Environmental Engineering Faculty during my undergraduate studies, and I pursued Information Engineering in the Graduate School of International Environmental Engineering. In broad terms, it’s related to information technology.

I’ve had a hobby of playing video games since a long time ago. As a working adult, I’ve become addicted to weight training. During my student days, there were days when I played games exclusively, and I even had days where I played for 12 hours straight.

By the way, during those long gaming sessions, what kind of games were you playing?

It’s a game where the main goal is to defeat or overpower the opponents.

Wow! Is that the famous Super Smash Bros. game, right? I’ve finally started to memorize some moves.

It’s tough, right? Haha.

“Hmm… Are you making fun of me…?”

<With an innocent smile and no ill intentions, Mr. Goto casually mocks the PR representative’s gaming skills>

Note: He mentioned that the playtime is approximately 3000 hours. At this point, we’ll make sure to keep an eye on him in real life to ensure there’s no Super Smash Bros. happening during work time.😝

Since you started working , you mentioned that weight training is a hobby. Do you have a favorite part to train?

I’d say the biceps and deltoids are my favorites!

Oh! Same here!!!

Yeah, right? They give off a cool vibe!

<Mr. Goto seems to enjoy talking about muscles with excitement, even though he admits he’s not entirely sure about the concept of sophistication>

The interview was with the company president and two engineers. One of the engineers was a senior from my university. The selection process involved submitting programs I had previously developed, and there was an oral examination on the topic of AI. It seems like everyone who wants to work in AI has to go through a similar process.

…Oral examination…?? What is that?

Yes! You are presented with a problem statement, and you have to respond orally. Specifically, you are shown a PDF and asked questions like, “There is this technology, do you know anything else? What possibilities can you think of?” And you have to provide answers on the spot.

Geeeeeeez!! That’s amazing…😯

<Mr. Goto, who successfully passed a recruitment examination that required both knowledge and adaptability, demonstrating his outstanding capabilities>

By the way, I also had the chance to review the set of questions he has been asked. After going through them, it gave me a bit of a headache. 😵‍💫

Currently, I am working on Proof of Concept (PoC) for a technology that detects unique data from a vast amount of data. To give a clear example, this involves detecting machine malfunctions or shortages in manufactured items. I can’t provide detailed information due to confidentiality, but essentially, I’m using technology to identify data with behavior different from the majority within accumulated data, and validating issues and concerns.

I am currently working on PoC projects, so I make it a point to consider and analyze my thoughts before reporting to my supervisor, saying something like, ‘I’ve thought about it this way, so I’m thinking of doing it like this next.

Oh…! So you you are systematically organizing your thoughts and actions and reporting them to your supervisor appropriately.

Yes, lately, for some reason, whether it’s a personality trait or not, I’ve been thinking a lot about being perceived as ‘working too slowly.’ So, I want to be mindful of that aspect as well.

…Is that so? Don’t worry too much about it. (look who’s saying 🤪)

Early riser? Does that make sense, lol?

At Next System, I value the opportunity to engage with technologies like ‘VisionPose’ for skeleton detection and ‘VP-Motion’ for behavioral analysis, where AI interprets visual information. Moreover, the company stands out in pioneering technologies such as AI and XR. The staff is not only kind but also comprises a diverse array of talented individuals, with some specializing in AI, XR, app development, while others showcase excellence across a wide spectrum as engineers. I genuinely admire the diversity and expertise within the team.

I want to become more knowledgeable about deep learning. There are still a lot things I don’t understand, such as how tasks and projects are carried out. As an engineer, I want to study and grow. Since I haven’t created specific deliverables at the company yet, I hope to develop something in the future.

Also, I want to work hard on weight training. I’ve been hooked on bench press lately..💪

Are you not hungry…?! (Low-key changing the topic while someone is talking)

Oh, you’re right! I am a bit hungry now!

Mr. Goto was so kind to me, even I had to end the interview because I was hungry. he remains considerate. His kindness extends to the point where he is rumored to be in charge of comfort within the company. I look forward to his continued active engagement both professionally and personally!

Also, stay tuned for our upcoming blogs!
